The dashboard installs as an app on a phone or a computer. It then sends a notification for each card, result and reminder, within your work hours.
A quiet card at the top of Suggestions offers both, one at a time: first the app, then notifications. Not now hides it for 14 days, and a second Not now stops it on that device. The same controls stay in Settings, General, This device.
On a computer (Chrome or Edge)
- Open your dashboard and click Install on the card, or Install app in Settings.
- The Machine opens in its own window. Pin it to your taskbar or dock.
- Click Turn on on the next card and allow notifications. A test notification shows up right away.
On a Mac (Safari)
- In Safari's menu bar, choose File, then Add to Dock.
- Open The Machine from the Dock and click Turn on.
In Firefox
Firefox can't install it as an app. Notifications work in the tab: click Turn on on the card, or the bell next to Notifications in Settings.
On an iPhone or iPad
- Open your dashboard in Safari. iOS 16.4 or newer is needed.
- Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Open The Machine from your Home Screen and tap Turn on.
Notifications only work from the Home Screen app, not in a Safari tab.
On Android
- Open your dashboard in Chrome and tap Install on the card, or open the menu and tap Install app.
- Open it from your home screen and tap Turn on.
Check or change it
In Settings, General, This device, the bell next to Notifications turns them on or off for that device only, and Send a test sends one to it.
If notifications are blocked, the row says where to allow them again: on a computer, click the icon left of the address and allow Notifications. On an iPhone, open the Settings app, Notifications, The Machine.
Opening fast
The app opens with your last cards right away, then updates them. Without a connection it shows what it had, marked Offline with the time it was last updated. That copy stays on the device for at most 7 days, encrypted, and goes when you sign out.
More devices
Sign in on each device the same way. On a hosted Machine, a passkey per device makes signing in quicker: add one under Security on your account page.
To read your Android phone's notifications as a source, see Android notifications.
