Find your way around

What each part of the dashboard is for, from Suggestions to Connections.

  1. The tabs
  2. New versions
  3. Events
  4. Feedback

The tabs

  • Suggestions: your to-dos. See To-dos.
  • Calendar: the week ahead with your meetings, due to-dos and promises. See Calendar.
  • Events: everything your Machine has read, to search.
  • Graph: the people, organizations and projects in your messages. See Graph.
  • Fleet: your team, family and friends on The Machine Network, once you have one. See Fleet.
  • Feedback: how the to-dos are doing, and what it learned.
  • Connections: your sources and how they're doing. See Connections.

Settings is the gear at the top. Find a to-do searches your to-dos by title.

Browser, at the bottom of the sidebar, shows your Machine's own browser. On a computer it opens beside the sidebar, at the size of the space it has, and so do View in browser on a to-do and Open the browser when a site needs a sign-in. On a phone it opens in a new tab.

The browser's front window shows in the middle and the rest of the screen is dark; a button in the corner shows the whole screen. On a short screen the whole sidebar scrolls as one column, to-dos included, like the menu on a phone.

New versions

When a new version of the dashboard is ready, it never reloads while you're using it. It loads once the window is in the background, or after a few minutes without input, and never while something is typed or a dialog is open. Update ready, at the top, loads it right away. A restart of your Machine only reconnects.

Events

Search everything that came in, by meaning or by words, across all accounts or one. Each result opens in a reader, with a link to open it where it came from.

Feedback

  • How the to-dos are doing: over the last 30 days, how many were Worth it, done on the First try, Finished, and Sent as is.
  • What I've learned: how you write, facts and how you like things done, from your notes. Edit any of it in your own words, and Remove anything that's no longer true. When a note on a to-do teaches a fact or rule, the to-do's chat says so under the reply (Saved to what I’ve learned, with Edit and Undo); that line comes from what was stored, so a reply never just claims it.
  • What you decided: a timeline of your choices on to-dos.
